Grants Possibilities for Providers

  1. Cisco Systems and TechSoup Announce New Nationwide Product Donation Program
    Deadline: Open
    Cisco and TechSoup, the nonprofit technology Web site created by CompuMentor, have announced a networking product donation program to benefit nonprofit organizations across the United States. The new joint initiative will give qualified nonprofits access to Cisco's networking solutions at greatly reduced prices, as well as support during the decision-making, installation, and ongoing use of the system.

  2. Veritas Introduces Software Donation Program
    Deadline: Various
    Veritas Software Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization established by Veritas Software Corporation, a storage software provider, has introduced its Software Donation Program. An extension of the Veritas Software Foundation, the Software Donation Program has allocated $500,000 worth of software to be distributed over the next year to provide nonprofit and educational organizations with storage software technology. Organizations receiving a software grant will benefit from the use of Veritas Software's Net Backup and Backup Exec storage software, providing data protection technology for organizations of all sizes.   3. SBC Excelerator Program
    This program was developed to equip community-based organizations with the technology necessary to advance their social missions, thereby building stronger communities. Specifically, grants are made in the areas of Technology Access, Technology Education, and Technology Workforce Development. For more information see www.sbc.com or call (800) 591-9336.

  4. Columbus Foundation
    Deadlines:
    • 4/4/03 - Health includes promotion of wellness, health awareness, and prevention of disease. It also encompasses activities related to mental health, public health, school-linked health services, family planning, substance abuse, convalescent and home health care, nutrition, and child immunization.
    • 7/11/03 - Social Services includes the support of family and individual development, and encompasses independent living and non-medical services for the elderly and individuals with disabilities; emergency services, including transitional and other services for the homeless; parenting skills; and school-linked human services for children and adolescents.
    • 9/5/03 - Urban Affairs includes programs dealing with housing, community and economic development, employment training, public safety, cross-cultural activities, citizen participation, and neighborhood life.
    Be sure to contact the Columbus Foundation to determine which Program Area your project falls under. See their webpage at columbusfoundation.org. Grant workshops will be held to explain their priorities and guidelines on March 12, June 18 and October 15, 2003, 3-5 p.m. Contact the Foundation at 614/251-4000.

  5. FY2003 Drug-Free Communities Support Program, U.S. Dept. of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)
    Deadline: 3/11/03.
    Must register on OJP Grants Management System by 2/25/03. To reduce substance abuse among youth; help community coalitions strengthen collaboration; enable communities to conduct data-driven, research based, prevention planning; provide technical assistance, guidance and financial support to communities.
