Grants Possibilities for Providers
Although ADAMH may not be applying directly for these grants, they may offer opportunities for community providers. Check the contacts listed for more information.

  1. The Harry C. Moores Foundation
    Deadline: June 1 (April 1 preferred)
    The foundation supports a broad range of charitable, religious and educational organizations in the Central Ohio area. They will consider new as well as existing programs that fill a need and are not merely duplicative of existing services.

  2. Hanley Family Foundation
    Deadline: Periodically
    The Foundation was created to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of alcoholism, chemical dependency, and addictive behavior, including support for related research and education.

  3. The Weyerhaeuser Family Foundation Children's Initiative provides funding for local programs that strengthen the social, physical, intellectual, and emotional functioning of young children in significant and measurable ways. The Initiative will consider programs that include at least 5 of the following:
    • serve children ages birth to six years, or address prenatal needs
    • provide services face to face with children in non-office settings
    • engage families of those to be served in the planning and execution of projects
    • share results of the project experience with others
    • present preventative approaches
    • connect children to other community services

  4. The Frederick S. Upton Foundation grants funding for many types of programs and services, including: art, culture, and humanities; youth development; education; public policy; philanthropy; mental health; food distribution and hunger; the environment; religious; social services; health; domestic violence; recreation; legal services; and family planning.

  5. The Women's Fund of Central Ohio awards grants to initiatives that benefit women and girls in Central Ohio. They will host four Grant Workshops in March to answer questions about their grant guidelines and the application process. Check womensfundcentralohio.org or call Sharon Steele at 223-9926.
